Simon Payne is an internationally renowned artist who has been making abstract cinema for 20 years. He transforms the ordinarily unseen, unheard or unnoticed codes, signals and material of digital and video by fashioning this detritus into a compelling palette of vivid colour and sound patterns. This programme, originally commissioned by Lightcone (Paris), also includes 16mm films by three friends and colleagues: Nicky Hamlyn, Neil Henderson and Jennifer Nightingale.
Simon will be present to introduce and discuss all the films in this programme.
