Low Light Workshop with BEEF member Vicky Smith

The creative potential of darkness as material for making art is explored in this practical dark room based workshop.

Workshop leader Vicky Smith has recently completed a short film Not (a) part that was made entirely in the BEEF darkroom: Little Things Rule The World

Participants will:

– make 16mm film contact prints

– brew eco-friendly developer

– load Lomo developer tanks and process their films

– screen and discuss films that explore how artists have exploited chance, accident and mystery through the materializing of darkness.

All materials included. Beginners welcome. Wear warm clothes!

Cost: £40 / £30 concs.
