Cucina Provera is the artist name for Maria Rossi, a Glaswegian-Finnish vocalist and composer currently researching and working on the artistic interface of the grid, early modern binary notation, discordance, language and empathy. A sound and improvisational artist who utilises and manipulates her voice to create ethereal tones and layered compositions. Exploring minimalism and the polyphonic her first solo LP released January 26th 2018 sold out in quick succession. Recent works include commission for Radiophrenia 2017 an online and FM radio broadcast at the Centre for Contemporary Art in Glasgow.

Agathe Max ( violin)

Agathe Max is a French violinist/Composer based in London via Bristol. After training in Classical music for 1O years and graduating at the Bourgoin-Jallieu School of Music, France, in 1995. Agathe was later exposed to improvised music and to the experimental scene; her most recent collaboration including KURO, Mésange, The SEER, Kolophon, Winter Ghost.
.‘Inspired by a world both enchanting and draped in darkness, she has developed a wide range of sound textures, unique and melodious, creating unconventional and magnetic musical pieces reflecting a personality in constant search of rareness in music’.

Viridian (electronics, cello, voice, double base & waterphone)
Viridian are an ethereal blend of image, voice, cello and double bass which re-imagines folkloric forms and tropes of femininity. Improvisation of both sound and image (digital & analogue) produce a dialogic blend of textural depths. Dissociative states, keening, and the supernatural inspirit the ensemble; each performance evokes utterances, nonsensical languages, and trans species forms of communication through collective rhythm, tone and resonance.

The viridian cohort are:
Dali De Saint Paul (voice), Liz Muir (cello), Caitlin Alais Callahan (double base) and Laura
Phillips (image/waterphone).
