Stephen Cornford (1979, London) is an installation artist and experimental musician who works by reconfiguring consumer electronics.
Recent exhibitions include solo shows at Rumpsti Pumsti (Berlin), Lydgalleriet (Bergen) & Campbell Works (London). Stephen’s work has been included in: Open Space 2014 at the ICC, Tokyo; Sound Art Klang als Medium der Kunst at ZKM Centre for Media & Art, Karlsruhe; Pavillion 0 at the Signum Foundation, Venice and Urban Sounds at the Haus der Elektronische Künste, Basel.
Stephen studied sculpture at the Slade School of Fine Art before completing an MA at Dartington. He is currently a Lecturer in Fine Art at Oxford Brookes University where he is artistic director of the Audiograft Festival. He is also co-curator of the Consumer Waste label with Samuel Rodgers and collaborates. His audio works have been published by Senufo Editions, Accidie Records, 3LEAVES, Cathnor and Another Timbre.
